American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position in Richmond, VA, requiring at least 2 years of L&D experience and active AWHONN fetal monitoring certification.

24-bed Maternal Infant Unit (MIU) located on the 3rd floor of the Atrium building
-
Labor & Delivery unit caring for vaginal delivery, C-section, antepartum, newborn, and postpartum patients
-
Labor patient ratio is typically 1:1; postpartum and nursery ratios are 5–6:1
-
GE fetal monitors used on the unit

EMR system: Meditech CPN
-
Night shift position: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
-
Every third weekend required, plus 12 hours of on-call per 4-week schedule
-
13-week contract
-
Active RN license — VA state license or Compact RN license required
-
Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP (Advanced 9th Edition, AAP card), and AWHONN Fetal Monitoring (Intermediate or Advanced) or NCCEFM

Minimum 2 years of recent labor nursing experience required

Experience in an LDRP setting with high birth volumes is preferred

US SSN and date of birth required for consideration

Professional reference required (2 references required if candidate is licensed in Florida or Missouri)

Night shift team includes labor nurses, nursery nurses, OB techs, and a unit secretary

Navy blue scrubs required; MIU nurses wear pink badges for infant security

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
-
No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

All certifications must remain active through at least the first 30 days of the assignment start date
