American Traveler seeks a Radiation Therapist with ARRT certification and 2+ years of experience for an acute care hospital's Radiation Therapy department.

Acute care hospital setting within the Radiation Therapy department

Adult and geriatric patient population
-
Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
-
Uses EPIC for electronic medical records
-
Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety license required, or license-pending status accepted for recent graduates of an approved Radiation Therapy program (license required if applicable)

Active ARRT and IEMA certifications required

Current BLS certification (AHA) required

Minimum of 2 years of experience in radiation therapy

Graduate of an accredited school of radiation therapy technology

Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
-
Experience with Varian TrueBeam, ARIA record and verify, multi-leaf collimator, HDR Brachytherapy, and dosimetry preferred
-
Must be able to produce a negative drug screen for all panels

Deliver prescribed radiation treatments in accordance with radiation oncologist instructions

Collaborate with radiation oncologist, radiation oncology nurse, medical dosimetrist, and physicist to coordinate patient care

Observe patients for reactions and follow radiation safety guidelines
-
Assist with dosimetry and tumor localization procedures

Perform equipment checks and maintain appropriate treatment records

Participate in patient teaching and serve as patient advocate throughout the course of therapy

12 hours of non-billable orientation required

Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are eligible for a local rate
