One of Kansas City's premier law firms is seeking an experienced Legal Billing Analyst to join its expanding team. The Legal Billing Analyst will oversee all aspects of the client billing cycle, ensuring that draft edits and the distribution of client bills are completed effectively, efficiently, and accurately, while also tracking and pursuing accounts receivable.
Responsibilities will include:
- Apply firm, IP, and client specific billing guidelines, fee schedules, processes and systems.
- Prepare bills, e-bills, letters and discount summaries.
- Track all account receivables; communicate balances; and follow up with past due clients concerning payments.
- Ensure that all client billing information, including client and attorney rate information, tax and activity codes, etc. is accurate, and communicate any necessary changes to supervisors and operations.
- Prepares weekly, monthly, quarterly and year end reports for clients and team.
- Review and verify the accuracy of billing and supporting documentation.
- Submit invoices for client payment using email and/or online billing portals.
- Email/mail invoices to clients.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Equivalent combination of an Associate’s degree and/or work experience will be accepted.
- Three to five years of experience in client billing in a similarly sized, multi-office professional services organization.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are required. Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent computer skills and knowledge of MS Office Suite with proficiency in Outlook and Microsoft Office skills are required.
- Experience with QuickBooks, TABS or similar accounting and timekeeping programs, is highly preferred.
