This position will report to the Miami-Dade County Sea Turtle Conservation Program. This position is will assist with year-round environmental education awareness, community outreach, and documentation of sea turtle nesting surveys, including, but not limited to, locating evidence of all nocturnal and daytime nesting activity, nest marking, monitoring and evaluations within the survey area, and for regulatory projects, as they may apply, during the nesting season. This position is essential to county services during hurricane season, severe weather or emergency disasters and reports pre/post-storm tasks in compliance with county needs during nesting season. The position may entail working long hours in extreme weather conditions, including, but not limited to, heat, high humidity, direct sunlight, rain, wind, and outdoor conditions (insects, sand, etc.).
