About the Role
At Tea Collection, we believe every child deserves to grow up connected to the world around them. Our collections are inspired by global cultures and designed to spark curiosity, celebrate difference, and help kids see just how big and beautiful the world really is. Our stores are that mission made real — welcoming places where families feel at home the moment they walk in. We're looking for a Sales Associate who believes, like we do, that retail is about people first.
This is a chance to be part of a community, not just a shift. You'll greet families like they're old friends, help kids find something they love, and help parents feel a little more confident in the incredible job they're already doing. If you remember names, love building relationships, and believe kindness matters as much as sales, we'd love to meet you.
Key Responsibilities
Create an Exceptional Customer Experience
- Welcome every family like they belong here — because they do.
- Build real relationships with customers that go beyond a single sale.
- Get to know regulars, remember their kids, and make them feel seen every time they walk in.
- Help parents find pieces that fit their family's world and reinforce the joy of raising globally curious kids.
- Create small moments that turn first-time visitors into loyal customers.
Drive Business Results
- Meet and exceed personal sales goals through genuine service and clienteling.
- Earn a performance-based bonus on top of your hourly rate for hitting sales targets — the more you sell, the more you earn.
- Look for opportunities to upsell and cross-sell without ever making it feel transactional.
- Support store promotions, events, and community outreach that bring new families into Tea Collection.
Support an Exceptional Store
- Keep the sales floor beautifully merchandised, organized, and welcoming.
- Assist with receiving, steaming, and setting the floor.
- Support accurate point-of-sale transactions.
- Help execute visual merchandising that tells Tea Collection's story.
Qualifications
Education
- No specific degree required.
Experience
- Prior retail or customer service experience preferred, but not required — we'll train the right person.
- Available 15–25 hours/week, including weekends, plus our busiest selling days — the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving and the days leading up to Christmas.
- Comfortable on your feet through a full shift, and able to lift and move boxes up to 50 lbs — receiving shipments, steaming, and merchandising are part of the day.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Leads with warmth, optimism, and genuine care for people.
- Loves connecting with families and children.
- Is naturally curious about different cultures and perspectives.
- Believes retail is about relationships, not transactions.
- Is dependable, punctual, and calm during busy moments.
- Uses good judgment to drive results without losing the human touch.
- Strong communication skills and a genuine interest in people.
- Comfortable with retail systems — Shopify POS and basic sales reporting (training provided).
Nice to Have
- Experience in specialty, boutique, or premium apparel — bonus points for kids' or family retail.
- A natural clienteling instinct — you remember names and details without being asked to.
Why Tea Collection?
We're building something special. Our stores are places where children are welcomed, parents feel encouraged, and our team members grow into leaders. We believe the best retail is deeply human — full of warmth, curiosity, generosity, and real connection.
If you're excited to be part of a team, connect with families, and help people discover a brand that celebrates the beauty of our world — we'd love to hear from you.
