Objective of the Position
This position is responsible for tax compliance, internal controls development and regional implementation for the Americas. Tax department Purem MX and Purem BRA reports to this role. This role is also responsible for Purem Argentina and also cross divisional for the tax departments of Climate Bus (Kanada, US and MX). Also the role supports Group Tax in some global AMERICAS tax topics such as e.g. fiscal yearend reporting, tax accounting and tax planning.
Essential Accountabilities: The position incumbent ensures, that
- Responsible for developing and implementing internal control best practices for the Americas operations for tax matters
- Responsible for maintaining relationships and deliverables with external tax consulting service provider(s)
- Responsible for the tax compliance for the AMERICAS operations.
- Prepares assigned US federal, state and local income tax returns, sales and use and other business tax returns.
- Maintains tax accounting records and effective tax rates and responds to audit documentation requests.
- Prepare/oversee tax related reports for financial, regulatory and other purposes.
- Prepares and review tax depreciation reports and other activities associated with the assimilation of the fixed asset data for tax return preparations.
- Participates in the calculation of quarterly estimated tax payments.
- Monitor and design material and transactional flows to ensure duty and tax efficiency
- Ensure international goods transactions are designed and executed in compliance with applicable international trade regulation and in compliance with specific trade agreements when necessary
- Ensuring internal compliance with tax procedures amongst various departments: purchasing, logistics, accounting and compliance.
Requirement Profile:
Professional Background / Basic Qualification / Work Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or Masters in Accounting/ Finance/ Taxation.
- Minimum 5 years' experience working for a manufacturing supplier preferably automotive.
- Must have 5 years of professional experience in Public and/or Industry accounting.
- Must be a Certified Public Accountant with experience in automotive manufacturing.
- Must have demonstrated knowledge in US GAAP, IFRS, Internal Controls management, and U.S. tax compliance in an international manufacturing corporate environment.
- Ability to travel domestically by car or plane.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in SAP.
