We are seeking a strategic and mission-driven Veteran Programs Manager to lead our Veteran housing programs, support a dedicated team, and help Veterans achieve housing stability and self-sufficiency.

What You’ll Do
As the Veteran Programs Manager, you will:
- Lead and oversee Veteran housing programs serving Veterans experiencing homelessness.
- Supervise, coach, and develop a team of Veteran Case Managers.
- Drive program performance and help the team achieve housing and stability outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with VA funding requirements, agency policies, and program standards.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with the VA, landlords, housing providers, and community agencies.
- Monitor program budgets, outcomes, and performance data to support program success.
- Support staff with complex situations, crisis response, and participant needs.
- Maintain a small caseload as needed to support operations and continuity of care.
- Identify opportunities for program improvement and help shape the future of Veteran services at Willis Dady.
SCHEDULE & LOCATION
- Generally, weekday hours (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM), with flexibility based on program and participate needs; occasional evening or weekend availability may be required
- Routine travel within Cedar Rapids area and Linn County and occasional travel to surrounding service areas
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, or a related field.
- Minimum of three years of experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, mental illness, substance use, or other complex needs.
- Experience working with individuals in crisis or experiencing homelessness.
- Previous supervisor experience.
- Military background and/or experience working with Veterans preferred but not required.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Familiarity with trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, harm reduction, or strengths-based approaches (or willingness to learn).
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to effectively supervise, coach, and develop staff.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
- Sound judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to remain calm and respond effectively in crisis situations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn new technologies and data systems.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to pass required background checks.
