As a Host, you'll play a vital role in creating the warm, welcoming dining experience that has made The Daily Catch a Boston institution. As the first point of contact for our guests, you'll help set the tone for every visit by providing genuine hospitality, managing the flow of the dining room, and ensuring each guest feels valued from the moment they walk through the door. Duties
Greet guests warmly upon arrival and create a welcoming first impression that reflects The Daily Catch's hospitality standards.
Manage guest arrivals, reservations, and waitlists while maintaining an organized and efficient flow of the dining room.
Coordinate seating arrangements to maximize guest comfort, table availability, and overall service efficiency.
Provide accurate wait times and communicate reservation details, menu questions, and guest requests with professionalism.
Answer incoming phone calls promptly and courteously, assisting guests with reservations, inquiries, and general restaurant information.
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional host stand and ensure all guest-facing areas are welcoming and well-presented.
Communicate closely with servers, management, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth seating transitions and efficient service.
Monitor dining room flow and assist with maintaining a positive guest experience throughout service.
Accurately manage reservations and guest information using the restaurant's POS or reservation systems.
Address guest questions and concerns with patience, professionalism, and a commitment to creating exceptional experiences.
Follow all restaurant safety, sanitation, and hospitality standards.
Support the front-of-house team by assisting coworkers and contributing to a positive, team-oriented environment during every shift.
Qualifications
Previous host or guest service experience in a high-volume restaurant environment is preferred.
Excellent communication and guest service skills with a warm, professional, and welcoming demeanor.
Ability to remain organized and composed while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage reservations, waitlists, and guest flow efficiently.
Experience using restaurant POS systems or reservation platforms is preferred.
Ability to handle guest interactions with professionalism, including answering questions and resolving concerns.
Understanding of hospitality standards, restaurant operations, and food safety practices.
Strong teamwork and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with servers, kitchen staff, and management.
A passion for hospitality and an appreciation for fresh, locally sourced seafood and authentic Italian and Sicilian cuisine.
Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
