Congregation Bet Ha’am is a vibrant and diverse Reform Jewish community in South Portland, Maine, serving 340 family units. We are seeking a Director of Operations to serve as the lead administrator for our staff and to work closely with our Rabbi and our Board President, all in an effort to ensure the efficient operation of our services, programs and offerings.
Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree.

Responsibilities:
- Oversight of support staff of 7-8 employees and parti-time contractors
- Putting systems in place to ensure the competent and efficient operation of worship services, educational programs and other offerings
- Oversight of congregational communications, including website updates, congregational mailings and social media posting
- Recruitment and training of volunteers
- Handling space rentals
- Support for Rabbi
- Budgeting and budget oversight in collaboration with Treasurer and Finance Committee
- Oversight of building maintenance in collaboration with Facilities Manager
Schedule:
This is a full-time 40 hour per week position with the Director of Operations expected to be on call as needed during weekends, and with CBH office hours otherwise being Tuesday through Friday, 9 am to 3 pm.
Compensation:
$70,000 per annum, plus healthcare stipend and PTO. Employees are paid bi-weekly, with 26 pay periods in the year.
