Job Coach/Project Search Skills Trainer/Placement Specialist Position
Our organization, All-Ways Care Services (ACS), is looking to hire the above postions for persons with disabilities/special needs. These positions assists individuals with disabilities in pre-employment or employment skills necessary to obtain employment and/or support clients to independently maintain employment in the community. Staff provide ongoing support to clients working at various employment sites within the community. This support is individual-based and centered around work-related goals that focus on helping the consumer obtain the maximum level of independence within their job. Service will be provided at the client’s assigned job site or place of employment.
Job Duties of Placement Specialist and Responsibilities:
· Communicate with clients, case manager, and staff.
· Assist with the coordination, evaluation, and planning of services.
· Assist the stakeholders with activities and optimal use of resources depending on the IPOS goals and objectives.
· Monitors and communicates authorizations, hours/units being used.
· Tracks paperwork corrections
· Develop, implement, and evaluate strategic plans, goals and objectives.
· In the event a staff is not able to work a shift, the Placement Coordinator is responsible for covering the shift. *Special exceptions pertaining to the IPOS will apply. (RESIDENTIAL ONLY)
· Coordinate scheduling activities.
· Supervise work activities of designated employees.
· Develop and instruct employees in the use of practices, procedures, and policies.
Job Duties of Employment Specialist
1. Consistently model appropriate work skills and hold clients to the same expectations. Following policy and procedures on dress code, work ethics and essential skills.
2. Uphold the standards of our work contract with employment site by maintaining appropriate attendance and punctuality.
3. Ensure safety is being maintained in the work environment at all times. Stay with client at all times.
4. Maintain and model positive, professional working relationships with clients, employment work sites and agency staff.
5. Monitoring and assess the client’s job performance in pre-employment services, provide prompts, and fading supports, when needed.
6. Provide servie notes daily to the Coordinator of Employment Services.
8. Accept and integrate supervision. Includes, but not limited to:
a) Following the Coordinator of Employment Service instructions, directives and All-Ways Care procedures.
b) Following supervisor instruction/directions regarding service provided to client.
9. Provide service for clients regardless of location, by creating and maintaining an atmosphere that is welcoming, understanding, communicative and supportive of our clients.
10. Willing and able to work with consumers with behavioral or personal care needs, in a respectful and professional manner.
11. Positively represent ACS. Uphold agency values. Understand and follow through with agency systems and protocols. Follow agency policies and procedures. Communicate positively and clearly with staff. Meet established timelines and deadlines. Maintain satisfactory attendance to work shifts, staff meetings and other assigned agency functions. Complete staff’s needed trainings by established deadlines. Maximize and responsibly utilize agency and community resources.
12. Placement Specialist works with individuals to locate potential job sites within interests and proximity.
13. Project Search Skills Trainer works with Utica Community School students and the city of Sterling Heights.
Qualifications:
· High School Diploma
· 18 years of age
· Must have valid driver’s license, and reliable transportation.
· Able to communicate effectively with the clients and supervisors that they work with.
Working Conditions:
· Must have an insured vehicle in good working order to utilize for transportation required for staff and program participants to and from employment.
· Must be able to work in a team, with continual communication and support for our clients
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: Starting at $17.50 per hour
