Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and measuring to support chefs and cooks
- Assist in assembling dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work stations, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations
- Support the kitchen team during meal preparation and service, including plating and portioning
- Handle food with care, following proper food handling procedures to prevent contamination
- Assist with inventory management by rotating stock and notifying supervisors of low supplies
- Contribute to a positive team environment by communicating effectively and supporting fellow staff members
Experience
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable
- Familiarity with menu planning, food preparation, cooking techniques, and food service operations
- Hands-on experience in food handling, kitchen environments, or the food industry is preferred
- Strong knife skills and knowledge of meal preparation methods are advantageous
- Understanding of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and catering procedures
- Restaurant or culinary experience demonstrating ability to work efficiently under pressure is a plus
- Passion for culinary arts with a desire to grow skills in food preparation and kitchen operations
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
