SUMMARY: Live-in position responsible for the day-to-day operation, safety, and community development of Threlkeld Residence Hall. The Residence Hall Director provides support to residential students, enforces residence life policies, supervises student workers, and promotes a positive living and learning environment.
- Supervise student workers
- Support student activities
- Check in/out students
- Be available for students
- Enforce student handbook and college policy and procedures
- Know basic first-aid in case of emergency situation
- Coordinate decorating with student leaders and coordinator of residence life
- Collect from Administration Building and distribute students’ mail
- Act as liaison for students and the office of student affairs
- Log residence hall inspections daily
- Assure students safety in the residence hall and campus
- Report potential problems or violations to Dean of Students
- Receive maintenance request from student and turn into student affairs in a timely manner
- Mediate student’s problem and direct student to appropriate help source
- Serve as a Campus Security Authority.
- Serve on the weekend on-call schedule at least times a semester
- Serve on the school holiday and break on-call schedule
- Plan and execute residential hall activities once a month
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of residential hall
- Participate in ResLife staff meeting, training and professional development
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: A minimum educational level of an associate degree; or one to two years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
