The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced mid-level Azure DevOps Engineer who is confident across the modern Azure toolchain; Azure DevOps, infrastructure-as-code, containers and platform security, to join us on a new programme of work (Dispatch Portal and iOS Operator App delivery.

What You’ll Do
- Design, build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps (Pipelines, Repos, Artifacts) to enable frequent, reliable releases.
- Provision and manage cloud infrastructure as code using Terraform, Bicep or ARM templates.
- Deploy and operate containerised workloads on Azure Container Apps (revision-based deployments, traffic splitting, KEDA autoscaling), including image management via Azure Container Registry..
- Configure Azure networking, identity (Entra ID / RBAC), Key Vault and private endpoints, and platform security controls to meet client compliance requirements, to designs agreed with the US Integration Lead
- Implement monitoring, logging, alerting and distributed tracing using Azure Monitor, Application Insights and OpenTelemetry; support incident response and root-cause analysisis.
- Automate operational tasks and environment management with PowerShell, Bash and/or Python.
- Support the integration fabric (some combination of API Management, Service Bus and/or Event Grid) and help operate the data tier (Azure SQL Managed Instance, Cosmos DB, Redis Cache, ADLS Gen2), to designs agreed with the US Integration Lead.
- Support private connectivity to the client’s Oracle estate (ExpressRoute <-> Oracle FastConnect) and day-to-day operation of that link, to designs agreed with the US Integration Lead.
- Apply FinOps discipline on Azure spend the client bears directly, including resource tagging, budgets, right-sizing and cost reporting.
- Participate in scheduled DR drills and support multi-region resilience operations (e.g. SQL Managed Instance failover groups, Service Bus geo-DR), to designs agreed with the US Integration Lead.
- Collaborate with developers on build/release strategy, branching and environment promotion; contribute to code reviews of infrastructure changes.
- Document infrastructure, runbooks and operational standards, and contribute to the architecture documentation owned by the US Integration Lead; support knowledge transfer to client teams where the engagement requires. As the programme matures, there’s a clear path to take on greater architectural ownership within the platform.
The Ideal Candidate Will Bring
Essential skills and experience
- 3–5 years in a DevOps, platform or cloud engineering role, with hands-on Microsoft Azure delivery.
- Demonstrable experience with Azure DevOps pipelines (YAML-based CI/CD).
- Infrastructure as code with Terraform(preferred) and/or Bicep.
- Containerisation (Docker) and hands-on experience running containers on at least one modern hosting platform (e.g. Azure Container Apps, App Service, or AKS/Kubernetes)
- Strong scripting in at least one of PowerShell, Bash or Python.
- Solid grasp of Git workflows, source control and release management.
- Working knowledge of cloud networking, identity and security fundamentals.
- Practical experience with at least one Azure integration/messaging service (e.g. API Management, Service Bus, or Event Grid).
- Clear written and verbal communication; able to work across time zones with our US Integration Lead and the client's US-based team.
Desirable
- Azure certification - AZ-400 (Designing and Implementing DevOps Solutions) and/or AZ-104 (Azure Administrator).
- Exposure to multi-cloud/hybrid connectivity patterns (e.g. ExpressRoute, or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure/FastConnect)
- Experience in field-service, logistics, dispatch or IoT-adjacent platforms.
- Familiarity with observability tooling (Grafana, Prometheus) and cost-optimisation practices.
- Exposure to applied-AI services such as Azure OpenAI or Azure AI Search, including awareness of cost and quota management.
- Experience operating multi-region or active/DR architectures (e.g. database failover groups, geo-replicated messaging).
- Experience with an iOS build/signing/TestFlight release pipeline (see note on this in the comments - scope to be confirmed).
Reporting Line & Collaboration
This role reports to our US Integration Lead. You will coordinate daily with the Oracle Cloud specialist engineer, application developers and, where the engagement requires, the client’s technical contacts on the US East Coast and the CDO (Florida). You’ll build and operate the platform to designs agreed with the US Integration Lead, with a clear path to take on greater architectural responsibility as the programme matures.
