The Children's Center at Groton is seeking an assistant teacher to work as a floater across all 4 of our classrooms (infant, toddler, preschool, and pre-k). Our Reggio-inspired school is seeking early childhood educators who have a strong belief in a play-based approach to learning. At our school, children remain in the same classroom for the full academic year (Sept.-Aug) and move together to the next age group. You will not experience students coming and going from the classrooms throughout the year.
Responsibilities for this position include:
- interacting/playing/reading/singing with the children in the classroom
- daily care routines such as diapering and bottle feeding
- assisting in administering snack/lunch
- the ability to sit on the ground and get up and down easily
- cleaning and sanitizing in the classroom throughout the day
- assisting the main classroom teachers as needed
*Floaters must have the ability to easily adapt to working in different classrooms with different ages.
EEC teacher certification is preferred, but not required.
