Position Overview
Under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist, the Physical Therapist Assistant will provide high-quality therapy services that help residents improve mobility, strength, balance, and overall functional independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement physical therapy treatment plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist
- Assist residents with therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, and mobility programs
- Monitor and document resident progress and treatment outcomes
- Collaborate with therapy, nursing, and medical staff to provide comprehensive resident care
- Maintain positive and professional relationships with residents, families, and team members
- Ensure all treatments are provided in accordance with professional standards and facility policies
Qualifications
- Current Illinois Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license, or eligibility for licensure
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Skilled nursing experience preferred but not required
- New graduates encouraged to apply

Required Education:
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program
- Current Illinois PTA licensure (or ability to obtain)
Required Experience:
- Experience in implementing individualized treatment plans in collaboration with a rehab team
- Experience in educating patients, families, and caregivers on treatment techniques
- Participation in patient care meetings and staffing conferences
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in therapy documentation systems (e.g., NetHealth preferred)
