Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain a variety of roofing systems using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to ensure precise installation and repairs.
- Prepare roofing surfaces by cleaning, removing old materials, and applying necessary underlayments or sealants.
- Use heavy lifting techniques safely to handle materials such as shingles, metal panels, or membrane sheets.
- Conduct inspections on completed work to verify quality standards and identify areas for improvement.
- Assist with related tasks such as flashing installation, caulking, trim carpentry, and minor repairs on adjacent structures like gutters or soffits.
- Follow safety protocols diligently to maintain a secure work environment on construction sites.
Experience
- Prior experience in roofing installation or repair is highly preferred; construction site experience is essential.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery common in roofing projects.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings related to roofing systems.
- Knowledge of construction estimating processes and material fabrication techniques.
- Additional skills in carpentry (including trim carpentry), masonry, welding, tile laying, stucco application, plumbing, or restoration work are advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to lift heavy materials safely and work effectively at heights.
