About TAS United
TAS United is a technology-focused call center and telephone answering service specializing in medical clients, with offices in Texas and Puerto Rico. We operate a high-availability, HITRUST- and PCI-compliant environment where technology is central to how we deliver — from our Azure cloud to the AI voice automation shaping our next generation of service.
The Role
We need a player-coach: a leader who mentors and directs a small team and stays hands-on — designing solutions, troubleshooting alongside the team, and making sound technical calls. This is not a hands-off management position.
You'll own the day-to-day operation of our full IT stack, reporting to our CTO — who remains a strategic partner while trusting you to run the operation. We're a 24/7 service: the IT team shares on-call, and this role is the escalation point.
What You'll Do
-
Lead the team. Manage, mentor, and set priorities for a team spanning applications, infrastructure/telecom, and on-site call center support.
-
Own the Azure environment. Windows/Linux VMs, failover clustering, Entra Domain Services/AD, VNets and NSGs, VPN (P2S/S2S), Front Door, App Gateway, App Service Environment, Key Vault, Azure SQL, Site Recovery, IaC, and Microsoft 365.
-
Own security and networking. Enterprise firewalls plus our SIEM, DLP, RMM, and MDM platforms.
-
Support compliance. Partner with our GRC lead — who owns policy and audits — by maintaining technical controls and gathering evidence for HITRUST and PCI.
-
Keep telecom running. Asterisk, SIP trucking, and call center telephony.
-
Advance AI initiatives. Support our production AI voice agents — already handling live calls — and the growing automation built around them.
What We're Looking For
In priority order:
-
Leadership and communication — proven team leadership and clear, confident English communication, written and verbal, with technical and non-technical audiences.
-
Security and networking — strong background in firewalls, VPNs, segmentation, and monitoring.
-
Azure — real production depth across a meaningful portion of our stack.
-
Call center and telecom — including Asterisk and SIP trunking.
-
Compliance familiarity (preferred) comfort in regulated environments (HITRUST, PCI, or similar).
Education: Bachelor's preferred, or equivalent hands-on experience. Certifications a plus: Azure (AZ-104/AZ-305), security (CISSP, CCSP, Security+), networking (Juniper JNCIA/JNCIS, Cisco CCNA/CCNP).
TAS United is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
