About the role
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Glass Department General Manager / Sales to lead our glass division. The ideal candidate brings deep product knowledge, a proven sales record, and the operational leadership to manage day-to-day department functions. This is a dual-focus role requiring both strategic oversight and hands-on customer engagement.
Key responsibilities
Oversee all glass department operations including scheduling, workflow, and quality control
Drive sales of glass products including mirrors, shower doors, railings, and custom glass works
Conduct precise field and shop measurements for custom glass fabrication and installation projects
Manage and mentor department staff, setting performance goals and ensuring accountability
Deliver exceptional customer service from initial consultation through project completion
Utilize Smart Glazier software for estimating, order management, and production tracking
Develop and maintain relationships with contractors, designers, and key accounts
Monitor inventory, coordinate with suppliers, and manage department budget and P&L
Required qualifications
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in the glass industry (mirrors, shower enclosures, railings, custom glass)
Minimum 5 years of proficiency with Smart Glazier software — this is a non-negotiable requirement
Proven ability to take accurate measurements for custom fabrication projects
Demonstrated experience in sales, with the ability to meet and exceed targets
Strong customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal
Leadership experience managing a team in a trade or specialty retail environment
Preferred qualifications
Experience with architectural, commercial, or residential glazing projects
Knowledge of glass codes, safety standards, and installation best practices
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
