We are an established and growing manufacturer of high volume precision metal stampings for the electronics, consumer goods, medical, industrial equipment, HVAC, automotive, defense, and firearm industries. We seek an energetic, responsible, and disciplined Machinist/Production Technician. This can lead to a toolmaker position. We are located in Owensboro, KY, approx. one hour east of Evansville/Henderson, an hour north of Bowling Green, and two hours west of Louisville.
Responsibilities of a Machinist/Production Technician:
- Sets up, stocks up raw material, and operates production equipment, machine tools, and support equipment.
- Sharpens and services production tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and machinists hand tools, while working under the direction of a Tool & Die Maker.
- Verifies dimensions using measuring instruments such as micrometers, height gauges, and gauge blocks.
- Inspects production parts using specific gauges, CNC measuring machines, and standard inspection devices, such as surface indicators, optical comparators, microscopes and micrometers.
- Works with tight tolerances. (If "tenths" means .0001 inch to you, we're the right place for you.)
- Tool & die repair or replace parts, fit and assemble production tooling.
- May assist on New Tool Build and Debug projects under the direction of a Tool & Die Maker.
- May run CNC or manual machines in our tool room.
Qualifications for a Machinist/Production Technician:
- Excellent communication skills, shop math and reading skills, and basic computer skills.
- Problem solving capability, working knowledge of press department and tool room practices is preferred.
- Willingness to participate in company provided on the job training program.
Education and/or Experience for a Machinist/Production Technician:
- 2 years manufacturing experience in a Production Press Department or Tool Room is preferred.
- Formal training or Apprenticeship in Machine Tool Technology or related vocational curriculum is preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in a related technical field or department is a plus.
