Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Driver to join our logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely transporting freight, including refrigerated trailers, hazardous materials, and various cargo types across designated routes. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, route navigation, and cargo handling will ensure timely deliveries while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be a vital part of our supply chain operations, delivering goods efficiently and responsibly to support our customers’ needs.
Responsibilities
- Operate tractor-trailers, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, following all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
- Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure accurate and timely deliveries across over-the-road (OTR) driving routes.
- Load and unload freight safely using manual handling techniques, ensuring proper cargo securing and compliance with logistics cargo handling protocols.
- Transport hazardous materials (hazmat) and dangerous goods in accordance with hazardous materials regulations and safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and inspection reports in line with DOT regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and operational readiness.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any issues promptly.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, delivery driving, or freight transportation, with a focus on route driving.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL), with endorsements for hazmat, tanker, or other specialized loads preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of FMCSA regulations, hazard materials regulations, DOT compliance, and truck loading/unloading procedures.
- Experience operating manual transmission vehicles and equipment such as refrigerated trailers or flatbeds.
- Ability to handle manual handling tasks safely while loading or unloading cargo.
- Strong navigation skills utilizing GPS systems for efficient route planning on over-the-road routes.
- Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and adherence to all traffic laws.
