PURPOSE: To plan and deliver rigorous, relevant curriculum and instruction to students participating in a 6th grade advanced math course; and to facilitate student participation and opportunity for mastery aligned with district expectations.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides an online teaching-learning environment, making use of a variety of instructional tools and teaching aids through asynchronous instruction, recorded lessons, live office hours, and purposeful independent learning activities.

Incorporates print, digital tools, interactive instructional strategies, and hands-on learning methodologies to accelerate and enhance student learning.

Accurately assesses, provides feedback, monitors, and records student progress.

Assists students and parents with technical support requests relating to the digital platforms and software in use.

Develops course in collaboration with teachers and curriculum coordinators to align to 6th and 7th grade curricula, as well as High Ability curricula.

Differentiates instruction to meet the varying needs of students.

Communicates with 6th grade teachers about student progress at least monthly.

Communicates weekly with families about student progress and coursework.

Maintains high expectations for student conduct in virtual meetings. Teaches and reinforces appropriate digital citizenship.

Maintains records as required by District policy and procedures and as instructed by the Superintendent or designee.

Utilizes approved instructional material and appropriate equipment or technology for educational purposes.

Maintains appropriate supervision of students at all times.

Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the superintendent or designee may assign.
