Summary
At Aluminum Alloys, the RotoLift Operator position is a key production role responsible for preparing and producing sand molds used in the aluminum casting process. The RotoLift Operator selects and assembles the appropriate flask equipment and patterns, operates molding equipment, and ensures molds are properly prepared for pouring.
This position requires a strong focus on safety, quality, productivity, and reliability. Employees must be comfortable working in a physically demanding foundry environment, using hand tools and molding equipment, handling sand and foundry materials, and following established safety, quality, and production procedures.
The Roto Lift Operator reports to the Production Supervisor, and the shift is Monday–Friday from 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Select and assemble appropriate flask equipment and patterns, set up equipment and work area using basic hand tools.
- Position patterns in flasks, fill flasks with sand, ramming the sand around the pattern with tools, hands, and use of molding machines.
- Prepare molds for drawing of patterns and repair damage to mold impressions in sand as necessary.
- Select and set in position appropriate cores and/or chills, vents molds as necessary.
- Assemble cope and drag sections of mold and place mold on pouring conveyor.
- Report production quantities and times for each work order.
- Report worn pattern equipment or other production issues to supervisors.
- Perform all other job-related tasks as assigned.
Pay: $21.00 - $28.00 per hour
