Seed Stocker
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Seed Stocker is primarily responsible for processing weekly deliveries of bird seed and other products at one or more of our locations. The product arrives on pallets and must be checked in and organized. The weekly seed order must be accurately verified, checked for quality, efficiently organized, and stacked neatly. Additional hours occasionally available.
Location:
- 1947 Fruitville Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601 – on an as-needed basis on Wednesday mornings
Part-time
$35 per hour. Minimum of 2 hours ($100) weekly. Typically 2 - 3 hours each week. Must be available Tuesday & Wednesday mornings.
Job Requirements
- Physically fit and able to efficiently move in one to two tons of seed per location
- Physical ability to perform this job – repetitive lifting and carrying of up to 40 lbs. and repetitive bending and kneeling
- Reliable
- Flexible availability – holidays or weather occasionally affect the truck’s delivery schedule
Functional Responsibilities
- Verifies merchandise received matches paper Purchase Order.
- Checks product for defects or tears.
- Moves product from the delivery pallet to either the showroom or stock room.
- Stacks product neatly for best presentation in the showroom.
- Organizes product in the stock room so each type of seed is accessible.
