Job Summary (Dispatch Fee Negotiable)
We are seeking experienced Owner Operators with 48 to 53-foot trailers who are in need of reliable truck dispatching services to elevate their freight operations. Duties
- Coordinate and manage over-the-road (OTR) driving routes, ensuring timely delivery of refrigerated, flatbed, tanker, or other freight types.
- Utilize GPS navigation systems to optimize routes, avoid delays, and ensure efficient delivery schedules.
- Handle load planning, cargo handling, and trailer management for various freight including hazardous materials (hazmat), dangerous goods, and specialty loads such as automobile transportation.
- Assist with truck loading and unloading processes, including manual handling and forklift operations when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards during all operations.
- Manage documentation related to freight delivery, load manifests, delivery logs, and safety compliance records.
- Provide support for route driving tasks such as delivery driving across diverse terrains including dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other specialized equipment.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with experience driving tractor-trailers or similar large vehicles.
- Proven experience operating 48 to 53-foot trailers in various freight environments.
- Knowledge of refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and other specialized trucking equipment.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation tools and route planning software for efficient dispatching.
- Understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT safety standards, hazardous materials handling, and logistics cargo handling procedures.
- Experience in delivery driving with manual transmission vehicles preferred.
- Ability to manually load/unload freight safely while adhering to safety protocols.
- Strong knowledge of over-the-road (OTR) driving routes across different states or regions.
