We are seeking a Low Voltage Cabling Technician to support the installation, testing, and organization of network and telecommunications cabling in commercial facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install Cat 5e, Cat 6A, and fiber-optic cabling.
- Perform rack-and-stack installation of network and IT equipment in server rooms and IT facilities.
- Install data cabling throughout warehouses, offices, and other commercial facilities.
- Identify and install network jack locations and terminate cabling as required.
- Install and connect cabling to network switches, wireless access points, firewalls, routers and other network equipment.
- Route, secure, label, terminate and organize cabling according to industry standards and project requirements.
- Perform cable testing and certification using Fluke testing equipment.
- Work in small, medium, and large facilities while maintaining a professional and safe work environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in warehouses, offices, server rooms, and other commercial environments.
- Ability to work from ladders, lifts, and elevated work areas when required.
- Ability to lift, carry, and handle cabling, tools, and network equipment safely.
Training:
Training may be provided to candidates who demonstrate a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and willingness to learn low-voltage cabling and networking technologies.
Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of low-voltage cabling, telecommunications, or networking preferred.
- Experience with Cat 5e, Cat 6A, fiber-optic is a plus.
- Familiarity with Fluke cable testing meters is preferred; training can be provided.
- Ability to read and follow cable layouts, work orders, and installation requirements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn new technologies, networking equipment, and installation techniques.
- Previous low-voltage or structured cabling experience is preferred, but training may be available for qualified candidates with a willingness to learn.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required. Vocational, Technical, or Business School education strongly preferred.
- Good judgment and decision-making skills.
- Good vision and hearing.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with tools and equipment.
- Work after hours, weeknds and holidays in needed basis.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
