Job Overview
The Shipping & Receiving Supervisor organizes and monitors the receiving, storage, and distribution of all items received either from suppliers or internal production, ensuring smooth and consistent operation so parts and supplies are located and distributed to proper departments in an effective and efficient manner as needed to satisfy internal and external customer requirements. The position oversees the receiving, storage, and distribution of raw materials and finished goods; most importantly ensuring a safe environment and MRP system accuracy for all transactions.
Essential Functions
- Key point of contact for any shipping and receiving related tasks; both internal and external
- Displays a positive attitude and supports company efforts to maintain Great Place To Work For All
- Supervises direct reports to ensure proper training/knowledge and discipline to follow processes in a safe and timely manner
- Responsible for the execution of those plans/processes for implementation and maintaining integrity of inventory accuracy.
- Processes purchase orders by verifying proper product and quantities are represented before receiving, sending the paperwork to the appropriate departments, and properly storing physical copies on-site
- Utilize NetSuite and third-party platforms for order processing and inventory management
- Oversee the proper management of product into inventory based on floor plan and MRP
- Verifies that products are properly picked, packed and labeled for shipment
- Cooperate with other departments to ensure the finished product is assembled according to quality assurance guidelines and is ready to be stored and inventoried (pallets, wrapping, etc)
- Manages workflow by monitoring the steps in the shipping, receiving and inventory processes; working cross-functionally w/ Production and Planning management to continuously improve the department’s performance
- Oversees inventory-related processes and procedures including but not limited to cycle counts, proper storage, identifying and properly labeling raw parts as well as finished goods
- Develops and tracks relevant KPI’s to measure the department’s performance
- May perform other duties assigned
- Supports the planning of layout and the development of processes
- Plan, schedule, and prep required documentation for shipments using a variety of programs including ShipHawk, ConnectPoints, Rithum, THD Supplier Hub, Lowe’s Vendor Gateway, and Stamps.com
Required Experience
- 3-4 years of shipping/receiving experience in a manufacturing and production environment
- Have a positive attitude and proven leadership capabilities
- Experience with EDI systems and methodology
- Ability to track fine details visually and discover defects during the quality control process
- Strong problem-solving and data analysis skills
- Ability to comprehend all purchase order and pick ticket forms to ensure that information is correct
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to multitask
- Microsoft Office experience (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams)
- Possess basic mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
Preferred Experience:
- Previous shipping/receiving supervisory or leadership role.
- Forklift certification.
- Experience with UPS Freight and FedEx Freight systems.
- Experience w/ ShipHawk or NetSuite systems.
- Previous vendor/supplier relationship management.
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- BA/BS in Business, Management, or Logistics or related field preferred
Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
