Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Automotive Technician to join our busy automotive repair and custom fabrication shop in Seaford, Delaware.
Our shop specializes in custom exhaust systems, performance work, and general automotive repair on a wide variety of vehicles, including modern daily drivers, classics, muscle cars, trucks, and performance vehicles.
This position is best suited for a technician who has a strong mechanical background, works efficiently, takes pride in quality workmanship, and is comfortable handling jobs that may require more problem-solving than routine parts replacement.
A large portion of this position involves exhaust-related work, including header installations, catalytic converter replacement, aftermarket exhaust installation, and exhaust system repair. The technician will also perform general automotive diagnostics, maintenance, mechanical repairs, and vehicle inspections.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and drivability concerns.
- Perform general automotive repairs and routine maintenance.
- Install and repair exhaust components, including:
- Headers
- Catalytic converters
- Mufflers and resonators
- Cat-back and axle-back systems
- Aftermarket and performance exhaust systems
- Install performance and aftermarket components.
- Work on both modern and older/classic vehicles.
- Use scan tools and diagnostic equipment to accurately identify vehicle problems.
- Perform thorough Digital Vehicle Inspections (DVIs) using a shop-provided tablet and our shop management system.
- Accurately document vehicle condition, inspection findings, recommended repairs, and additional concerns.
- Take clear photos when appropriate to document inspection findings and needed repairs.
- Maintain clear, detailed, and accurate notes on inspections, diagnostic findings, repairs performed, and additional concerns.
- Properly document work throughout the repair process using digital work orders.
- Inspect vehicles and identify additional needed repairs or maintenance.
- Complete assigned work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
- Keep tools and work areas clean and organized.
- Follow proper shop safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of professional hands-on automotive repair experience.
- Strong mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting ability.
- Comfortable working on a wide range of makes, models, and model years.
- Ability to perform repairs without requiring constant supervision.
- Experience using automotive diagnostic equipment and scan tools.
- Ability to complete accurate and thorough Digital Vehicle Inspections (DVIs).
- Comfortable using a tablet, digital work orders, and a shop management system as part of the daily workflow.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to write clear, useful notes documenting vehicle concerns, diagnostic findings, recommendations, and completed repairs.
- Ability to take appropriate photos and accurately document vehicle condition during inspections.
- Exhaust, welding, or fabrication experience is strongly preferred.
- Personal automotive tools preferred.
- ASE certifications are a plus but are not required.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Reliable transportation to and from work is required.
- Dependable attendance and the ability to work efficiently in a busy shop environment.

Who We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who can come into the shop with a solid automotive foundation and contribute without needing to be taught basic automotive repair.
You do not need to be an expert exhaust fabricator to apply. However, experience with exhaust systems, welding, fabrication, performance vehicles, or aftermarket installations is a major advantage.
More importantly, we are looking for someone who is dependable, mechanically capable, organized, comfortable with technology, willing to learn, and takes pride in producing quality work.
Good communication and documentation are an important part of this position. Our technicians are expected to complete thorough DVIs, take appropriate photos, and leave clear notes so vehicle condition, recommendations, diagnostic findings, and completed repairs are accurately documented.
