GENERAL SUMMARY:
Responsible for input and accuracy of back-flush process for all the OE and Aftermarket products and components. Provide communication support between manufacturing and materials group on each shift. Perform data entry as needed. Oversee staging and/or stage material for shipment on each shift. Follow set guidelines intended to reduce scrap, improve efficiency, and meet quality requirements.
JOB DUTIES:
· Ensure the finished goods meet all quality checks and are correctly back-flushed in the computer system before moving product back to finished goods storage.
· Provide a direct line of communication between manufacturing and materials group so that all materials related issues are resolved.
· Perform data entry of finished goods and scrap on each shift.
· Perform “pick & pack” duties for TIPOE and aftermarket orders, and stage OE shipments without errors as required to meet window times and pickup schedules.
· Encourage the material handling team to submit ideas to continuously improve the materials group and facilitate the implementation of them through the Warehouse Supervisor.
· Provide direct support to any team member whenever the occasion arises.
· Ensure that all team member activities lead toward the goal of inventory integrity.
· Carry orange cones to shipping/receiving gate and keep vehicles (except emergency ones) from entering the property, whenever an emergency requires associates to leave the plant.
· Identify possible sources of product contamination and understand impact of contamination on our customers.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING:
· Continuous mental and visual attention required while performing multiple tasks with a high level of accuracy and quality.
· Common intelligence needed to make decisions and work independently to complete multiple tasks with minimal supervision, understand rules of staging and warehousing products, supervise material handlers, and report major problems immediately to supervisor.
· Possess entry-level understanding of Microsoft Programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook. Will be required to enter data into spreadsheets and initiate or respond to emails.
· Considerable physical effort required consisting of standing or walking 6-8 hours, sitting 1-3 hours, continuous lifting up to 50 pounds, twisting, bending and squatting, pushing and pulling, and climbing. Constant use of arms to fingers to reach or handle product or use controls.
· Required to wear safety glasses and hearing protection at all times on the production floor. Will be required to utilize other safety equipment identified for changing and charging forklift batteries. Steel toe shoes recommended.
· Ability to learn the source and distribution of different raw products and finish goods.
· High school diploma or GED required.
· One to two years of previous shipping, receiving or material handling experience is preferred.
