RESPONSIBILITIES OF CERTIFIED MEDICINE TECHNICIAN (CMT) :
● Assists with prescribed medications and treatments, as defined by state regulations, in accordance with approved techniques and notes time and amount on resident's record.
● Verifies identity of resident receiving medication and records name of drug, dosage, and time of assistance on specific forms and records. .
● Assists residents with medications and observes ingestion or other application or assist with medication, using specific procedures. . ·
● Observes resident, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies Nurse Supervisor of resident's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
● Documents reasons prescribed drugs are not administered and reports to the Nurse
Supervisor. Orders or notifies Nurse Supervisor for resident medication refill needs.
● Takes temperature, pulse, and blood pressure, as per state regulations.
● Checks residents regularly. Follows through with resident problems or needs by delivering care or reporting to supervisor depending on level of ability and nature of resident need.
● Orienting and introducing residents to staff, building and other residents
● Interacting in a pleasant, respectful, and responsive· manner with residents, families, visitors, and staff ● Participating as an active member of residents services team and supporting property goals ● Acknowledging residents' and families' concerns and initiating action on a timely basis
● Performing all duties in a safe and efficient manner
● Demonstrating knowledge of emergency policy and procedure
● Attending and participating in all in-service education programs required by state and federal guidelines ● Utilizing resources and maintaining open communications with all facility staff
EDUCATION
High School diploma or equivalent
● All Medicine Technicians must be certified, as required, by state regulations
EXPERIENCE
● Knowledge and experience in working with elderly required, preferred dementia experience
● Basic reading and writing skills, and ability to speak English
● Have the following characteristics: empathetic, resourceful, high self-esteem, flexible, responsive, attention to detail, compassionate, and friendly
● Must be able to work as part of a team

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
