CURA Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and experienced Pain Management Advanced Practice Clinician (NP or PA) to join our growing team serving skilled nursing facilities throughout New Mexico.

Position Overview
The Pain Management APC will evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic pain conditions in adult and geriatric populations. This role focuses on developing individualized treatment plans utilizing both pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations related to pain management and controlled substances.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive pain assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Manage acute and chronic pain conditions in SNF settings
- Prescribe and monitor medications, including controlled substances, in accordance with regulations
- Utilize non-pharmacological interventions and multimodal pain management strategies
- Monitor patients for treatment effectiveness and adverse effects
- Evaluate patients for substance use disorders and implement appropriate care plans
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, therapists, and facility leadership
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests including labs and imaging
- Maintain accurate and timely EMR documentation
- Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and quality initiatives
Qualifications
- Active Nurse Practitioner (NP/APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) license
- Active DEA registration
- Experience in pain management, geriatrics, palliative care, primary care, or post-acute care preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
- Knowledge of opioid prescribing guidelines and federal SNF/ALF regulations
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team
