We are a mental health clinic that provides psychiatric services to adults in New York.
Someone might be hurting or struggling, and we might not know what to do or what to say. But, if we all become more aware and learn about mental health we can easily be of more support to some who need our help.
Duties and responsibilities
- Receive patients’ in a friendly manner; direct patients and visitors to appropriate personal.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments, follow-ups and physician referrals in a timely manner
- Answer phone calls while maintaining a polite, consistent phone manner using proper telephone etiquette
- Receive insurance co-pay payments and post amounts paid to patient accounts and verify patient insurance through various insurance companies
- Protects patient confidentiality, making sure protected health information is secured by not leaving Electronic Medical Record (EMR) in plain sight and logging off the computer before leaving it unattended
- Complete intake packages, and privacy forms with patients
- Register new patients and update existing patient electronic chart
- Correspond to inquiries regarding patient records
- Respond to inquiries by patients, prospective patients, and visitors in a courteous manner
- Facilitates patient flow by notifying the provider of patients' arrival, being aware of delays, and communicating with patients and clinical staff
- Responsible for keeping the reception area clean and organized
Qualifications
- High School/GED
- Preferred English/Spanish speaker
- Excellent Customer Service
- Time Management
- Basic Word and Excel Programs
- Be able to have a flexible schedule (weekends) and work holidays if needed

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24.0 – 40.0 per week
