Overview
We are Cody Builders Supply and we fabricate steel for projects here in Austin, Texas and across the US and US territories. We fabricate metal for projects such as train and bus stations, dams, fish hatcheries, bridges, walk-ways and the like. We have been in business for over 30 years, and we are looking to add a Structural Draftsman to our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating precise structural drawings and plans that support our customer's construction projects. We do not sponsor work visas.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed structural drawings and schematics using Tekla CAD software.
- Coordinate with engineers and architects to interpret design concepts into accurate technical drafts.
- Review and revise drawings based on customer orders.
- Support project teams by providing technical drafting expertise for mechanical systems and system design integration.
Job Responsibilities
- At least 3+ years using Tekla software for structural shop drawings.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD software.
- Strong understanding of drafting principles, schematics development, and construction documentation processes.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications accurately.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Not required, but it’s a plus to have A degree or diploma in Drafting Technology, Civil Engineering Technology or related field is a plus.
Training for this role is extensive and to ensure success, we require the applicant take the following tests: tape measure, aptitude, IQ, personnel potential and pass a drug test.
Pay is between $26-$43 per hour. The person hired for this position will first do in-house training for approximately 2-6 weeks while receiving training pay, which will be between $20-$25 per hour. Once training is done, base pay would be between $26-$43 per hour.

Work hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30AM-5:00PM, with a :30 lunch break.
Pay: $26.00 - $43.00 per hour
