Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Geologist to lead the compilation and analysis of historical geological data for a 43-101 report, a critical document that provides transparent and reliable mineral resource estimates. Duties
- Collect, review, and synthesize historical geological data, including drill logs, assay results, geological maps, and previous exploration reports.
- Conduct detailed field research such as soil sampling, groundwater assessment, and site reconnaissance to gather supplementary data supporting the 43-101 report.
- Utilize GIS software like ArcGIS and environmental modeling tools such as Petra to interpret spatial data and create detailed geological models.
- Prepare clear, precise technical reports documenting findings, methodologies, and interpretations in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure environmental law compliance and integrate hydrogeological assessments into overall project planning.
- Support environmental remediation project management by providing geological insights and assisting with soil and groundwater investigations.
- Use AutoCAD for creating or updating geological maps and site layouts as needed for project documentation.
Skills
- Proven experience in geology with a strong background in field research, data collection, and geological modeling.
- Proficiency with GIS platforms such as ArcGIS and Petra for spatial analysis and mapping.
- Technical writing experience to produce comprehensive reports that clearly communicate complex geological information.
- Knowledge of environmental law, environmental compliance standards, and Hazmat regulations related to site investigations.
- Ability to interpret diverse datasets including soil sampling results, groundwater data, and historical exploration records.
- Familiarity with groundwater modeling tools like MATLAB or Python for hydrogeological assessments.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with construction experience enhances understanding of site operations and safety protocols.
- Experience with AutoCAD for mapping purposes; knowledge of MATLAB or Python is advantageous for data analysis tasks.
