As our U.S. operations continue to expand, we are seeking an experienced transportation professional to join our Florence, Kentucky terminal in a key operational leadership role.
This position is ideal for a seasoned Driver Manager, Senior Dispatcher, or Transportation Operations professional who understands the realities of truckload operations and can successfully balance driver management, customer service, operational execution, and profitability. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of a fleet, build strong relationships with drivers, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Position: Senior Driver Manager / Transportation Dispatcher
Location: Florence, Kentucky
Schedule: Monday to Friday – Full Time
Due to the nature of the transportation industry, occasional after-hours and weekend availability may be required to support operational emergencies, customer requirements, or driver needs.
The Senior Driver Manager / Dispatcher serves as a critical link between drivers, customers, and operations leadership. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day performance of an assigned fleet while ensuring service commitments, safety expectations, driver satisfaction, and operational efficiency are consistently achieved.
This role requires a proactive leader who can manage competing priorities, solve problems independently, hold drivers accountable, and maintain strong customer relationships while supporting the continued growth of our U.S. operations.
- Manage and oversee an assigned fleet of drivers, equipment, and customer freight movements.
- Develop strong working relationships with drivers through consistent communication, coaching, support, and accountability.
- Monitor driver performance, attendance, service levels, safety compliance, and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate freight movement while maximizing equipment utilization and driver productivity.
- Proactively manage service issues, customer concerns, breakdowns, weather events, delays, and operational disruptions.
- Work directly with customers to provide updates, resolve concerns, and maintain exceptional service levels.
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, Hours of Service requirements, company policies, and safety standards.
- Assist with capacity planning, freight allocation, routing decisions, and operational strategy.
- Support driver onboarding, training, performance management, and retention initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with Safety, Maintenance, Payroll, and Operations leadership to achieve company objectives.
- Participate in after-hours operational support when required.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on service, profitability, safety, and driver engagement.
- Minimum 3-5 years of transportation dispatch, fleet management, driver management, or trucking operations experience.
- Proven experience managing drivers in an asset-based transportation environment.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations, Hours of Service, transportation compliance, and operational best practices.
- Ability to lead difficult conversations, hold drivers accountable, and build positive working relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and make confident decisions under pressure.
- Strong customer service and relationship management skills.
- Experience with transportation management systems, dispatch software, ELD platforms, and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in dry van, regional, dedicated, automotive, or just-in-time freight operations is considered a strong asset.
