Position Summary: The Patient Advocate is responsible for maintaining patient rights by educating patients; responding to patient and patient family complaints; resolving patient issues; reporting unresolved issues.
Responsibilities:
- Resolves inbound calls/complaints by listening to patients and their families.
- Documents complaints in the Practice Management Software.
- Makes outbound calls to patients regarding open balances.
- Create payment plans or offer other financial assistance to patients to resolve balances.
- Negotiate balances to recover as much payment as possible.
- Handles patient callbacks from voicemail messages received.
Qualifications for this position include:
- Must speak Spanish.
- Professional customer service skills.
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
- Must Type 45 WPM.
- Out of Network Benefits Knowledge.
- HIPPA Knowledge is a must to protect the patient identity. Training is provided.
- Professional phone etiquette.
- Must be able to multi-task.
- Must be able to interpret and reconcile explanation of payments, and posting summary in Practice Management Software System.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Experience:
- Front desk registration/Customer Service: 3 years (Preferred)
- Medical terminology: 3 years (Preferred)
- Basic Insurance Benefits: 3 years (Preferred)
