Job Summary
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Group Home Staff is responsible for supervising residents, maintaining a safe and structured environment, documenting daily activities, assisting with behaviors, transporting clients, and supporting residents with daily living skills.
This position requires professionalism, patience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Duties
- Supervise and support youth in a residential setting
- Ensure resident safety and well-being at all times
- Assist residents with daily routines and independent living skills
- Complete daily notes and required documentation accurately
- Redirect behaviors using trauma-informed approaches
- Transport clients to school, appointments, and community activities
- Administer medications as trained (if assigned)
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the facility
- Follow all Community Care Licensing (CCL) regulations and facility policies
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
- Participate in trainings and staff meetings
Qualifications
- Current CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) Certification required
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience working with youth, foster youth, behavioral clients, or in residential care preferred
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Valid California Driver’s License with clean driving record
- Ability to pass DOJ/FBI Live Scan clearance
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification preferred (or willing to obtain)
- Must be reliable, professional, and dependable
- Strong documentation and communication skills
Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
