Overview
We are seeking a Part-Time Material Handler for the second shift, working Monday through Friday from 6 PM to 10 PM. This role involves handling, moving, and organizing materials within our warehouse environment to support smooth distribution processes. The ideal candidate will be proactive, safety-conscious, and experienced in warehouse operations.
Responsibilities
- Safely load, unload, and move materials using manual handling techniques and heavy equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, clamp trucks, and cranes.
- Operate warehouse management systems and RF scanners to accurately track inventory movements.
- Pick and pack orders efficiently using <PERSON> pickers and order picking procedures.
- Assist with shipping and receiving activities, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to OSHA safety standards.
- Load and unload trucks while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Support inventory management by conducting regular stock counts and reconciling discrepancies.
- Utilize mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting equipment issues and performing basic maintenance.
Requirements
- Prior experience in warehouse distribution or related environments is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation including forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety standards such as OSHA regulations.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks consistently.
- Experience with warehouse management systems, RF scanners, and order picking tools.
- Construction or mechanical experience is a plus but not required.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in shipping & receiving processes.
