Job Overview
As a Pawn Broker, you will play a vital role in our retail environment, providing exceptional customer service while facilitating the buying, selling, and pawning of various items. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, basic math proficiency, and the ability to manage inventory effectively. You will be responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere for customers and ensuring that all transactions are handled accurately and efficiently.
Duties
- Engage with customers to assess their needs and provide assistance with buying, selling, or pawning items.
- Supervise daily operations to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Manage inventory by stocking merchandise and conducting regular audits to maintain accurate records.
- Operate cash registers efficiently, handling cash transactions and providing receipts to customers.
- Conduct product demonstrations to educate customers about items available for sale.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace that enhances the shopping experience.
- Utilize phone etiquette when handling customer inquiries or concerns over the phone.
Requirements
- Previous experience in retail sales or a grocery store environment is preferred.
- Strong cash handling skills with a focus on accuracy in transactions.
- Basic math skills to perform calculations related to sales and inventory management.
- Excellent communication skills with an emphasis on customer service excellence.
- Familiarity with product demos and the ability to engage customers effectively.
This position is ideal for individuals who are motivated, detail-oriented, and passionate about providing outstanding service in a dynamic retail setting.
Pay Scale: Based on Pawn/Jewelry experience.
- Entry-Level (0-1 year of experience): $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
- Intermediate (1-3 years of experience): $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
- Experienced (3+ years of experience): $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
There is a one month paid training period for everyone and after the training period we give you $1 raise and a promotion to sales associate if we decide to keep you on staff. We also offer monthly sales bonuses as well as opportunities to make more hourly pay.
