The Yard Associate I is responsible for safely operating a forklift to load customer orders, move materials throughout the yard, and maintain an organized warehouse and outdoor landscape supply yard. This role is customer-facing and requires assisting customers with loading materials into their vehicles while providing exceptional service and answering product-related questions.
The ideal candidate is safety-focused, organized, dependable, and able to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a clean and efficient yard.

Safely operate a forklift to load customer orders and transport materials throughout the yard and warehouse.

Assist customers by loading products into vehicles while providing outstanding customer service.

Organize, clean, and maintain the warehouse and landscape supply yard.

Ensure materials are properly identified, packaged, labeled, and stored.

Visually inspect materials to verify quality and conformance to company standards.

Maintain warehouse supplies, tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and orderly condition.

Organize, plan, and prioritize daily work assignments.

Complete all required documentation accurately at the end of each shift.

Follow inventory procedures and assist with material movement throughout the facility.

Support company policies, procedures, and operational goals.

Promote a safe work environment by following all OSHA and company safety policies.

High school diploma or GED required.

Forklift certification required.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

This position is performed onsite at a company store, warehouse, and outdoor landscape supply yard. The majority of work is performed outdoors and requires regular exposure to changing weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, dust, and noise from machinery and powered equipment.
Work may also be performed inside warehouse facilities or while operating yard equipment with limited climate control. Employees are required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety vests, eye protection, gloves, and any other required safety gear.
