Duties
- Perform comprehensive cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal across all designated areas.
- Handle various cleaning agents and chemicals safely, following established chemical handling safety procedures.
- Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, and vacuums to maintain floors in pristine condition.
- Conduct routine sanitation of restrooms, kitchens, and high-touch surfaces to ensure a hygienic environment.
- Assist with custodial responsibilities related to facilities maintenance, including minor repairs and reporting larger issues promptly.
- Use manual handling techniques for heavy lifting tasks while adhering to safe lifting practices to prevent injury.
- Support industrial or commercial cleaning projects as needed, including specialized floor care and buffing services.
Skills
- Proven experience in janitorial or custodial roles with a strong understanding of cleaning procedures and equipment operation.
- Knowledge of chemical agent handling safety procedures and proper use of cleaning chemicals.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently while following safety protocols.
- Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with staff and visitors when necessary.
- Familiarity with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or painting is a plus.
- Skilled in operating commercial cleaning equipment including floor buffers and scrubbers for effective floor care.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to sanitation standards and safety regulations in industrial or residential settings.
