American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Cath Lab position at a Level II Trauma Center in Montgomery, AL, requiring interventional Cath Lab experience and an AL or compact RN license.

Work in a 4-room Cardiac Cath Lab/Cardiovascular Recovery (CVR) unit at a 492-bed Level II Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center
-
Required patient experience includes STEMI/NSTEMI, LHC/RHC, CHF, Angina, ACS, Afib, IABP/Impella, CTOs, staged/protected PCI, pericardiocentesis, and temporary pacers
-
EP, vascular, PE, and hybrid/structural procedures (e.g., Watchman, TAVR, PFOs) are performed in the lab but prior experience with these is not required

Caseload averages 20–25 patients per day
-
12-hour day shifts (0630–1900), three shifts per week
-
On-call schedule includes one call night per weekday week, with possible one late shift per week (late shift and call shift will not be worked concurrently)

Weekend on-call rotation every 4th weekend, Friday end-of-shift through Monday at 0630
-
30-minute response time required for call

Call rooms are available and can be reserved through the manager

EMR: Cerner (experience required); Hemodynamic Monitoring: XPER (Philips); IV Pumps: Plum 360; Medication Dispensing: Omnicell
-
May float to IR or Cardiovascular Recovery (CVR); prior experience in those areas is not required

Active AL RN license or compact RN license required
-
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required

Minimum 1 year of interventional Cath Lab experience required (diagnostic-only Cath Lab experience is not sufficient)

Proficiency in groin and radial band (VascBand) site management, moderate sedation, drip titration, defibrillator/pacer operation, rhythm recognition, and anticoagulant administration

Comfort addressing ventilator alarms (critical vs. non-critical) required; vent management experience is not required

One supervisory or charge-level reference from the past 12 months required for consideration
-
DOB (day and month) required for consideration

Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Cath Lab Coordinator/Supervisor manages room assignments and the board; support staff includes RT 24/7, Hospitalist 24/7, on-call Cardiologist, and an RRT/Code Team

Lead equipment is available for travelers who do not have their own
-
RN will transport patients to the CVR recovery area post-procedure; a transporter is available during daytime hours

New-to-facility travelers and those who have been away for 1+ years will receive 24 hours of classroom orientation, followed by 1–3 shift on-unit orientation based on comfort level

Holiday coverage requires one major and one minor seasonal holiday per contract

RTO requests must be approved by the manager; block scheduling is not guaranteed

Schedule cycles run 3–6 weeks

Green scrubs are provided by the facility
