We are seeking a friendly and caring part-time or full-time hygienist to join our growing specialty dental practice. We are a private practice with a great staff and loyal long-term patients. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care while performing a variety of clinical tasks. This role requires a strong understanding of dental hygiene practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. The Dental Hygienist will play a crucial role in educating patients about oral health and ensuring their comfort during treatment procedures. New graduates welcome!
Schedule: Monday -Thursday 7:45am-5:15pm (2 Fridays per month as needed)
Minimum 3 days per week
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough dental cleanings including scaling and polishing teeth.
- Utilize aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment and ensure patient safety.
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices, nutrition, preventive care, new office products and whitening options ((by demonstrating, for example, good brushing techniques).
- Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history and identify conditions like gingivitis, caries or periodontitis.
- Apply preventive materials to the teeth, including sealants and fluoride treatments.
- Take diagnostic quality radiographs.
- Maintain accurate patient records using Eaglesoft (preferred experience).
- Review patient documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Skills
- Valid PA state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist.
- Valid PA license to administer anesthesia is required.
- Valid BLS Certification.
- PA regulations require current (within 5 years) criminal background check, child abuse clearance, FBI fingerprinting.
- Strong understanding of documentation review practices and HIPAA compliance.
- Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on patient care and comfort.
- Attention to detail & stamina to meet the physical demands of the job (i.e. able to life up to 45 pounds).
- Knowledge of Eaglesoft or similar dental management software systems is an advantage.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
