Bliss Progressive Psychiatry is a small private psychiatry practice. We see a limited number of patients, we take our time with each one, and we are out-of-network by design so that no insurance company decides what a patient gets.
We are hiring one registered nurse. This is the only nursing position in the practice, and the person in it becomes the operational spine of the place.

The work has two halves and they feel nothing alike.
The clinical half is deliberate and unhurried. You will care for roughly four to eight patients across a treatment day, but you stay with each one for a long stretch, monitoring for an hour or more. The skill is sustained attention: noticing the small shift in breathing, affect, or blood pressure that tells you something is changing, and responding before it becomes urgent. There is no adrenaline to carry you through. If you need a busy floor to stay engaged, you will be bored here, and we would rather you know that now.
The other half is running the clinical operation. Triaging portal messages, calls, and pharmacy requests with real nursing judgment. Pre-charting. Prior authorizations. Disability and FMLA documentation. Records coordination. Keeping the treatment days organized so they actually work.
Roughly half your week is each. Some nurses find the second half beneath them. If that is you, this is not your job. The nurses who thrive here are the ones who like owning a system and making it run well.
What you will do
Clinical
- Place peripheral IVs and administer medications and IV therapy as ordered
- Prepare, monitor, and support patients throughout treatment sessions, recognizing and responding to changes
- Assess patients and triage messages, calls, and pharmacy requests, escalating as appropriate
- Patient education on treatment and aftercare
Clinical operations
- Pre-charting and documentation in Healthie
- Prior authorizations for treatment and medications
- Disability, FMLA, and related documentation
- Medical records requests and coordination
- Keep the treatment space clean, calm, and ready
You work alongside Mandy Bliss, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC, who is on site for every treatment. She is dual board-certified in family and psychiatric nursing, one of very few in Kentucky, and you will learn a great deal from her if you want to.
Requirements
- Current Kentucky RN license, or a multistate compact license with Kentucky as a remote state
- Current BLS. ACLS required within 90 days; we pay for it
- Solid IV placement skills
- Comfortable with EHRs and patient portals

Psychiatric or behavioral health experience is welcome but not required. Infusion, ambulatory clinic, procedural, and PACU backgrounds all translate well.
Schedule
Four to five days per week, roughly 32 to 40 hours. Day shift. No nights, no weekends, no holidays, no call. One Saturday per month at time and a half is possible if you want the hours, and is not required.
Compensation and benefits
- $40.00 to $44.00 per hour, W-2
