SUMMARY:
To actively supervise the students in the cafeteria and playground during the lunchtime period at assigned elementary school.
REPORTS TO: Site Principal and Food Service Director
General Responsibilities:

Guiding student's toward appropriate behavior while in lunch line
-
Assisting younger children in getting lunch trays, milk and condiments
-
Helping children open lunch items
-
Monitoring student behavior and providing appropriate behavior modification techniques within guidelines of school rules.
-
Work with students to help them learn appropriate lunchroom etiquette, good manners, and encouraging appropriate, positive intermingling of students
-
Assisting students in cleaning up after themselves (spills, wiping tables, disposing of trash, etc)
-
Helping to wash tables, pick up floor trash and ready condiments between lunch sessions and after lunch period.

Monitoring students for safety and appropriate behavior on the playground.

Working with kitchen, custodial and instructional staff to implement ways to make the lunchtime run more smoothly and efficiently

Other duties as assigned assist the staff of the school in getting adequate lunch breaks while providing appropriate school supervision.

Determining when student behavior requires intervention and what appropriate intervention to implement.

Knowing when to refer a problem to supervisor.
