Senior Traveling Low Voltage / Fire Alarm Specialist
We are seeking a skilled Low Voltage / Fire Alarm Specialist with strong experience in electrical rough-in and trim-out to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience installing, terminating, and troubleshooting low voltage and fire alarm systems in residential, commercial, and/or industrial environments. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical installation practices, code compliance, and the ability to work independently or as part of a crew.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, route, and secure low voltage cabling including fire alarm, data, security, and access control systems.
- Perform rough-in work, including conduit runs, box placement, cable pulling, and system layout according to plans and specifications.
- Complete trim-out work, including device installation, termination, labeling, and final system connections.
- Install and service fire alarm systems, including panels, pull stations, smoke detectors, horns/strobes, and related equipment.
- Test, troubleshoot, and repair low voltage and fire alarm systems.
- Ensure installations comply with NEC, NFPA, and local building codes.
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and system layouts.
- Coordinate with electricians, project managers, and other trades on job sites.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow company safety policies.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in low voltage installation and/or fire alarm systems.
- Experience with electrical rough-in and trim-out work.
- Familiarity with fire alarm panels, devices, and system testing procedures.
- Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics.
- Knowledge of NEC and NFPA standards related to fire alarm systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on ladders or lifts when required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Fire Alarm certification or NICET certification.
- Experience with commercial electrical installations.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
