MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High School diploma or equivalent.

Valid Adult and Child First Aid/CPR/AED certificate issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Demonstrated proficiency in music performance and instruction on primary band instruments.

Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.

Valid Florida drivers license.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors degree in music education or related field.

Valid Florida Educator Certificate in Music.

Experience in concert band, jazz ensemble, and/or marching band instruction.

Familiarity with music notation software and digital learning tools.

Strong musical knowledge and conducting skills.

Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.

Ability to motivate and engage students with diverse musical backgrounds and skill levels.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

Instruct and rehearse band students in individual, small group, and full ensemble settings.

Assist with the planning, preparation, and execution of performances, including two school-based concerts, eight performances outside of school hours and a minimum of three parades each year.

Support the implementation of the music curriculum in alignment with district, state, and national music education standards.

Prepare students for participation in the Lee County All-County Honor Band audition process and provide support throughout, including assisting with auditions and attending all rehearsals for which students earn placement in the ensemble.

Support recruitment and retention efforts for the band program through outreach to students and families.

Uphold district policies and procedures, including those related to student conduct and safety.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
