SMC Design is looking for a talented and driven Interior Designer to join our creative team. We are a design-focused studio that thrives on delivering one-of-a-kind interiors with a high level of detail and originality. We're seeking someone who not only has strong technical skills but also a passion for bringing unique ideas to life and confidence in managing construction trades.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce accurate and detailed drawings using AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Enscape
- Contribute creatively to conceptual design and presentation development
- Conduct solo site visits and confidently liaise with trades, suppliers, and contractors to resolve on-site issues
- Collaborate closely with the internal team while also demonstrating independent problem-solving and time management
- Assist in the day-to-day flow of design and project coordination in a busy, hands-on office environment
- Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and design team to address client's needs
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Architecture
- 2 - 3 years of experience in related fields
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Enscape is essential
- Strong design sensibility and a portfolio that reflects originality and creative thinking
- A self-starter who can manage tasks independently while contributing positively to a team dynamic
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Must be available to work full-time, in-office, and comfortable handling solo site responsibilities
