Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and certified Ambulance Mechanic to join our fleet maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining ambulances and emergency response vehicles to ensure safe and reliable operation. This position requires strong mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment supporting emergency medical services.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on ambulances and emergency vehicles
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and HVAC issues
- Inspect brakes, engines, transmissions, suspension systems, and emergency equipment
- Maintain and repair ambulance electrical systems, lighting, sirens, radios, and medical power systems
- Complete safety inspections and ensure vehicles meet DOT and local regulations
- Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and roadside service calls when necessary
- Work closely with fleet and EMS personnel to minimize vehicle downtime
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Certification in Automotive or Diesel Mechanics required
- ASE Certification preferred (especially Medium/Heavy Truck or Electrical Systems)
- EVT (Emergency Vehicle Technician) Certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Minimum 2 years of fleet or emergency vehicle maintenance experience
- Strong knowledge of diesel and gasoline engines
- Ability to use diagnostic software and repair tools
- Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred

Work Environment
- Full-time position
- May require evening, weekend, or on-call shifts

Pay: $59,000.00 - $73,000.00 per year
