Under the indirect supervision of a dentist:

Perform mouth mirror inspection of the oral cavity.

Chart existing restorations and conditions as instructed by the dentist.

Prepare patients for treatment/seating/positioning chair/placing napkin.

Prep lab forms for signature by the dentist.
-
Maintenance of dental equipment.
-
Place and remove post-extraction dressings/monitor bleeding.
-
Polish coronal portion of teeth with rotary hand piece and rubber prophy cup or brush.
-
Transfer dental instruments.
-
Apply fluoride varnish.
-
Mix dental materials.
-
Take x-ray film and expose radiographs.
-
Preventive education and oral hygiene instruction.
-
Give oral hygiene instructions.
-
Sterilization and disinfection procedures.
-
Provide pre-and-post-operative instructions.
-
Make impressions.
-
Select and fit bands for cementation by dentist.
-
Compliance with OSHA regulations and Centers for Disease Control guidelines.
-
Take oxygen saturations and pulse.
-
Apply pit and fissure sealants.
-
Assist pediatric dentist chairside.
