Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive diagnostic tools to identify issues with engines, transmissions, electrical systems, suspension, steering, brakes, and other vehicle components
- Conduct repairs on powertrain systems, including diesel engines and transmissions, ensuring proper function and longevity
- Repair and replace vehicle suspension systems, alignments, and wheel balancing to enhance ride quality and safety
- Interpret automotive wiring diagrams accurately for electrical system troubleshooting and repairs
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and specialized automotive repair tools efficiently to complete maintenance tasks
- Maintain detailed service records, complete auto estimating for repairs, and communicate findings clearly with customers
- Follow dealership or company protocols for vehicle maintenance, ensuring compliance with safety standards and quality assurance measures
Requirements
- Proven dealership or service technician experience with a strong background in automotive diagnostics and repair
- Familiarity with schematics, automotive electrical systems, ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems), and vehicle systems integration
- Mechanical knowledge of powertrains, vehicle transmission systems, diesel engine repair, and vehicle suspension system repair
- Ability to interpret automotive wiring diagrams accurately for electrical troubleshooting
- Experience working with GM vehicles or similar makes is preferred but not required
- Proficiency in using automotive diagnostic tools and service software for auto estimating and repair documentation
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients
- Valid mechanic certification or relevant technical training is highly desirable
